A new favourite of mine, I found this place while looking up lesser-known restaurants in the area to try and I’m surprised by the lack of foreigners here! All the better for me as it means the already-small restaurant doesn’t have a daunting line out the door to stop me from visiting so often.
They are famous for their “nomeru hamburg” which translates to “drinkable hamburg”, not to be confused with hamburger. Japanese hamburg is a hamburger-like patty but much thicker and not in an actual burger, but usually served with noodles or rice.
Even though their menu is in Japanese, you can simply order by saying “nomeru hamburg”! It comes in 3 sauces: ponzu (which is a slightly sour sauce like the ones in tonkatsu), demiglaze and demiglaze with cheese. I generally go with ponzu as it’s more refreshing.
I’ve been there for both lunch and dinner services and I would have to recommend going during lunch as you’re more likely to get seats (especially out of the usual lunch-rush times) and also the meal comes in a set with rice and a salad! So more bang for your buck!
