A staple for most foodies in Melbourne probably, Calia has lived up to its reputation and consistently delivers good modern Japanese dishes. Conveniently placed within the Emporium shopping centre, it’s an easy lunch stop for anyone in the city.

Pricey even for Melbourne brunch standard (ranging in the $30s for most dishes, up to $50s), Calia makes up for it in its high quality ingredients, and generous portion sizes. Their sides such as the umami fries and desserts like their boba cake are equally as impressive and delicious too!

On occasions when I crave some good Japanese food, Calia comes to mind. The portions are quite large which makes it perfect for going in groups and sharing a wide range of dishes to sample together 🙂
